I’m not the first to praise Rodarte for their versatility. They have yet to get stuck in a shtick a la Alexander Wang. Known for their intricate textures and layering of fabrics, I was surprised to see how pared down their FW11 collection was. Fortunately, the simplicity is beautiful. While the above wheat print has been receiving mixed reviews I think it’s so elegant and beautiful. Pairing photo prints with such a flowy, feminine dress is something totally new, and I for one think it works. All this is to say nothing of the gorgeous styling, which has been a real low point this fashion week.
I love the sweater trend this season, so wearable. Done impeccably here at Kimberly Ovitz.
Jenni Kayne was an unexpected delight for me. The collection feels like a highly wearable Dries Van Noten. Colorful, without being overwhelming. The fit on nearly every piece is insane. Everything’s a little loose but hangs just right on the model’s body. I’m so excited that cozy sweaters are actually a runway trend this season, comfort here I come!
